If you have ever been to a healing session, you might know what it is like to leave feeling almost overwhelmed by the ache in your mind and heart. You might feel frustrated because you cannot bring yourself to trust the healer who is supposed to be helping you feel better.

When you are in pain yourself, you can sense the same kind of a pain in others. So, when you look at that person who will heal you and help you find your way to a better place, you immediately stop trusting them. They are wounded too. To be able to elevate your consciousness, they need to be elevated themselves. Otherwise, all your sessions and your hard earned money will simply go to waste.

There are a lot of people unintentionally masquerading as gurus who are just not capable of healing anyone. They read books on self-help and spirituality and think that they are qualified to help others. In reality, they haven’t put in any of the actual work that needs to be done.

As the old saying goes, “practice what you preach”. Most don’t. And anyone who preaches something which they don’t practice themselves will not be able to do anything for others. Their vibrations aren’t in tune with those who need their help. Without that, they don’t have any healing power.

Question Yourself

Acknowledging one’s own shortcomings is certainly not easy, but you need to answer some tough questions to know whether you yourself are healed. Ask yourself: Are you a wounded child? Are you still offering services to others who are also hurting? Ask yourself if your wounds still ache and whether you are just putting on a brave front for the world.

If your answers to these questions are yes, you need to take a step back and focus on your own growth. Let go of these old pains and confront the emotions you’ve been holding back for so long. Find freedom from the things holding you back so that you can actually serve the world to the best of your potential.

How To Heal Yourself So That You Can Heal And Guide Others

Embrace the hurt and the shadows inside you. Let them go so that they are no longer holding you back. When you find your freedom, you will be able to move closer to your ideal self. Learn from your own teachings and become someone others can look up to. If you really wish to help others, it must come naturally and not from other people’s works.

So why is this important? For someone who is trying to heal and mentor others in a healing session, this understanding is vital for the sake of all the others who come for help. They have the opportunity to create something beautiful and it isn’t something which should be squandered.

So check in with yourself. Ask your inner child if the pain returns when you take sessions? Ask your body if it is strong enough to play these roles? Only continue if the answer is an unequivocal yes. Otherwise, take time off to learn until you are ready.
